TCP - See Transmission Control Protocol
TCP/IP - A common shorthand that refers to the suite of transport and application protocols that runs over the Internet. TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol over Internet Protocol) is the set of rules which defines the communications standards for passing information back and forth across the Internet. TCP/IP is actually a collection of more than 100 transmission protocols. It is the common language that controls all communications hardware linked to the Internet, thereby helping to avoid communications conflicts and misunderstandings when data is shuttled among computers linked to the Internet.
Transmission Control Protocol - An Internet standard transport layer protocol that is connection-oriented and stream-oriented.
Trojan Horse - A computer program that carries within itself a means to allow the creator of the program access to the system using it.
